Nope, weighing different values is not the same utilitarianism (in the philosophical sense). Hedonistic utilitarianism (the most popular form that I’m aware of) says that only suffering and happiness matter (i.e., it is only “net happiness” for all conscious beings that matters). It doesn’t assign worth to any other intrinsic values.

You have an intuitive weighting of your own different values in a situation/context dependent way. So to resolve conflicts, you need to reflect carefully on how much you care about the different values at stake in that situation.

If you have only one value, you can weigh everything against it and resolve conflicts by reference to it. What would you say to this criticism?
